DALI goes Casambi

With DALI, luminaires with a DALI interface can now be dimmed from 1% - 100% without any problems and absolutely flicker-free.
The flickering phase dimmers are finally obsolete.
However, this requires two additional lines (DALI bus), which are usually not available in existing buildings.

The Casambi technology with DALI interface can help.

In this way, the lights can be switched on either via the conventional switch using switching sequences or via a Bluetooth wall transmitter or can also be switched and dimmed extensively via mobile phone app.

DALI („Digital Addressable Lighting Interface“) is a protocol that can be used to control lighting devices such as LED drivers, ballasts and dimmers in building automation. The connection is made via the DALI bus system. Up to 64 actuators and a maximum of 16 groups can be controlled in each BUS system.

A DALI system can be expanded using expanders (several DALI devices receive only one DALI address) or repeaters (cable length). The importance of DALI is becoming more and more important, since due to the strong upswing in LED technology, conventional dimming as is usual with halogen or incandescent lamps is hardly possible anymore.
