Constant current driver for Illuxtron LED panels in MLMC version

Illuxtron exclusively uses constant current drivers from renowned manufacturers. The lifetime of LED constant current drivers determines the lifetime of a luminaire system, as well as the flicker of LED luminaires.

The following properties are taken into account with regard to the constant current sources at Illuxtron:

Dimmability and use of CC power supplies

The manufacturer offers various LED drivers from 350 mA to 1050 mA for operating the Illuxtron Mini Downlights. Depending on the selected power, the luminous flux (lumen output) of the connected panel is calculated. (see respective table in the luminaire description)

Note: Special feature with Tuneable-White version
2 ballasts are required for operation to supply the two internal, separate LED modules and control them accordingly.
Both ballasts together must not exceed the specified total output (e.g. 48.8 watts) and must be regulated accordingly to avoid overheating of the LED modules. In this example this applies to all listed LED drivers from 550 mA (grey background).
Tuneable- White dimming (infinitely variable &change of the colour temperature) is only possible with dimmable drivers, with non-dimmable drivers (NoDim) only a switching on and off of the internal modules! Not suitable !
